WHAT TO EXPECT:

(Semi-Permanent Services)

Day 1
You may experience redness; Depending on the pigment used you may also see an orange cast where the pigment is placed. This is due to oxidization and should disappear in a few hours.

Day 2
The pigment in the brow area may appear visibly darker than the initial color of the first day. This is a results of the natural oxidation process that takes place in the skin once pigment has been implanted. The pigment is reacting slowly with oxygen in the air, turning it darker.

Day 3
The skin in the brow area should form a crust-like appearance. You should continue to place a moderate amount of ointment on your brows. Avoid over applying the healing ointment.

Day 4-8
The skin in the brow area will continue to crust. During this time, you should experience shedding of the previously formed crust. Please do not pick at the scabbing skin, instead allow it to naturally shed. IMPORTANT: If you peel the crust prematurely, you take the risk of losing the pigment behind it or minor scarring.

Day 9+
The crust should have completely shed and the pigment behind will look very faint. DO NOT PANIC!! The color will return gradually in the weeks to come. The average client will see a return by week two. However, the average healing time is four weeks.

Day 30
Your brows should appear 30% lighter, and with a soft powdery finish. Please be advised that these are semi-permanent brows and will gradually fade. Your lifestyle and skin type determines the longevity of the brows. Avoid direct sun exposure, place sunscreen daily and enjoy your new brows!

Do I get to choose my brow shape?

Your brow shape will be determined using five key measurements on the brow bone based on your face shape and structure. Though these points will be used as a guide, Ms. Parker will not start the procedure until you approve or completely love the outlined shape.

Does it hurt?

Your comfort is very important; and because of this, we will apply a local anesthetic to numb the area during your procedure.  On a scale from 1-10, most clients rated the procedure as a “3”.  Also, it has been stated, “…if any pain was felt at all, it feels like eyebrow threading”.

How long is the brow service application?

Generally, an appointment is scheduled for 4 hours; however, the procedure will take up to 50 minutes of that time.  The remaining time is used for pre-numbing, paperwork, consultation, evaluation and any Q&As that are unanswered.  Additional time may be used to ensure you are pleased with your procedure.

I have oily skin. Can I still receive the service?

Clients with oily skin would not be an ideal candidate to receive certain SPMU services. However, if you’re willing to take the leap then consider the following:

Microblading would be least ideal since the only pigment under the skin is within the line or stroke. One may lose the ENTIRE stroke. A better option would be to shade (Microshading, Ombré Powder Brows) or combine the two (Brow To The Gods Beauty Combo Brows) with more shading than strokes. Shading places more pigment under the skin so if a client is oily, they stand to hold the pigment a lot better and should not look completely faded if any color is lost.

Who’s not an ideal client?

Clients prone to keloid scarring.

Clients with pre-existing brow tattoos.

Clients with excessively oily skin, larger pores, thicker skin and eyebrow keratosis can negatively affect the absorption of the pigment and therefore are not great candidates for the semi-permanent eyebrow procedures.

** If Ms. Parker has to cancel your appointment due to any of these reasons the client is still responsible to pay for appointment. Retaining fees are non-refundable **

How often will I need to return for a touch-up?

When strokes are placed extremely close, the strokes will mend together creating a hazy shadow instead of separate strokes when healed.  As an alternative, Ms. Parker will moderately apply your initial strokes, then allow 6-8 weeks for them to heal.  Any time within the 6-8 weeks period, she will apply more pigment to achieve the desired look.  After your 6-8 week touch up, you won’t need to come back for at least 18 months.

How long will the semi-permanent brows last?

Skin types, age and daily activity play a major role in the longevity of your semi-permanent brows application.  Most eyebrows application will last 8-12 months, while others may last longer. Please note that since the pigment is not implanted as deep as a traditional tattoo, your pigment will fade gradually until it eventually fades away.  For your brows application to remain, you need to schedule a touch-up appointment every 8-12 months.

Can you explain the difference in the services offered?

We offer three services: Microblading, Microshading and the most popular service, the AKB Combo Brows.

If you are unsure of which service to book, visit our social media page, select your favorite picture and book the service that is listed first as the hashtag.

Microblading of the three is a two-step process. It will require a follow-up appointment in 6-8 weeks for fullness or to make the strokes appear 3-dimensional. The follow-up appointment is not included in the initial appointment’s fee. This service is the most natural and intended to mimic real brow hairs.

Microshading is typically a one-step process. Most will not need a touchup so soon since the shading can be layered for fullness in the initial appointment. This service is the most glamorous and intended to mimic a filled-in, shaded brow.

The last service, the Brow To The Gods Beauty Combo Brows. This technique combines the two. It’s a nice mix of natural + glam where it gives you a little more “pizzaz” than your everyday natural Microbladed brow and a little less “glam” than your shaded in Microshaded brow. Because this service involves Microblading, there’s a possibility that you may need a follow up appointment in 6-8 weeks.

SEMI-PERMANENT BROW AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Day 1

Using distilled water, gently apply light pressure to the brow area, hourly.

Before bed, apply a thin layer of ointment to the brow area using a cotton swab. Never use your finger-tips.

Days 2-10

DO NOT wet the brows or allow makeup or other products to flow through the serviced area.

Be sure to avoid excessive sweating.

DO NOT assist in the peeling process. Instead, allow the skin to naturally shed.

Apply a thin layer of ointment to the brow area using a cotton swab once daily until a scab has formed over the brows (never use your fingertips).  If the ointment is over saturated, skip that application and allow the ointment to “dry out” until the next day.

Days 11-14:

Gently cleanse brows with mild soap.

Avoid swimming or exposure to chlorine for 14 days after the procedure.

You may begin make-up application at this time.
